Rose Charities UK is run by a board currently of  6 trustees and is based in Central and Southern England.

The board all have considerable individual experience in overseas project and/or  organization administration in the UK including within the accountancy, business and medical professions.

Chair:  Dr David Staples….   David is a Consultant Physician in acute Internal Medicine at the Royal Derby Hospital.  He is the holder of two clinical excellence awards.  He speaks at medical conferences, has written many published articles, helps with the training of new doctors and sits on various medical bodies.  Through his own company he consults on organisational efficiencies in hospitals including the introduction of  innovative cloud based staffing solutions to provide part time hospital work for clinical researchers.   He is also founding Chairman of ‘The Centre for Theology and Community ‘ , a London based charity which for the last ten years has promoted action for social-justice in inner-city, multi-faith contexts.  David enjoys playing the church organ and singing with Southwell Minster Chorale.

Hon Sec.  Mrs Pip Zingg:  .. Pip joined the team at Rose in January 2000.  At that time she was Head of Operations for a Marketing Recruitment business in London – Stopgap. Pip started her career in Marketing and spent several years as a Board Director for one of London’s top 20 below the line agencies where she was known for her ability to develop strong client relationships and encourage team members to achieve their best.She has a strong creative flair coupled with a strong project management mindset. Pip is currently living in Wiltshire with her husband and their two girls, having spent several years living abroad including the Far East, Berlin and Switzerland.

Hon.Treasurer:  Ms. Barbara Reade..  Barbara is a Chartered Accountant. Now retired, she worked in the oil industry specialising in tax. She travelled quite widely with her work and saw great disparities in peoples living conditions. Barbara has been Treasurer since the Charity was set up in 2001. She is also Treasurer for a choir, is a volunteer steward at a local National Trust property and is interested in furniture restoration.

Mr Khalid Virani… Khalid is an entrepreneur with interests in a range of businesses worldwide ranging from telecommunications to real estate to hospitality. Prior to this Khalid was a Corporate Lawyer with extensive M and A and Corporate Finance experience culminating in his appointment as General Counsel of a multionational group of companies with investments in over 30 countries globally.  Khalid studied law at the London School of Economics and Fordham University in New York and has organised a number of successful fundraisers and events for charitable causes over the last 10 years

Jessica Mallinckrodt… Worked for 2 years as a kibbutz volunteer then trained as an SRN (general nurse) With a particular interest in elderly care. Whilst bringing up her family Jessica continued her nursing career  as well as running a number of other very small businesses including  the founding of a wholefood cooperative which has recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. In her 14 years prior to retirement she started and developed a small nursing and care agency in the Cotswolds employing approximately 100 nurses and care assistants. Jessica enjoys the  outside live,  and  health of the environment and sustainable agriculture are very important to her  shaping much of her life decisions. She enjoys learning new languages and exploring different cultures and has a real curiosity and interest in people.

Dr William Grut…..    William’s academic career includes a PhD in materials science from Oxford and a masters in Parasitology and UK Boards Tropical Medicine Diploma and a Doctorate of Medicine from  Kings College, London. He developed interest in international development while assisting at a hospital in Papua, New Guinea. He is one of the founders of  AMDA Canada,  Project IRIS Cambodia and Rose Charities. He has hands on field work experience in SE Asia, Angola, Rwanda, Nepal, Sri Lanka, including emergency relief operations in Mexico and Sri Lanka and has directed many others.   He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the B.C. Children’s Hospital.  He is the only UK non-resident on the Rose Charities UK board but visits the UK several times throughout the year.
